Professional Experience

Design and Development Manager
California Accessories
(October 2014 – Present)

Manage design and development of all eye wear cases from design through production life cycle. Coordinate closely with merchandising and sourcing counterparts to ensure cohesive product assortment and timely development process. Adapt fashion trends and needs of our customers to eye wear cases and accessories. Negotiate costs, source/test new materials as well as balance material minimum restraints for use in product range.

Sourcing Coordinator, VF Sourcing Latin America (May 2012-July 2014):

Manage development from costing through production of apparel for Harley Davidson for Sourcing in the Western Hemisphere (especially Central America). Assessment of technical specifications and CADs for strategically planning the development of new styles based on fabric type, embellishment techniques and overall capacity of factories available. Negotiation of FOB costs and facilitation of communication between the Brand and Factory throughout product life cycle. Tracking of progress of all pre-production samples, approval requirements and testing policies. Participation in Research and Development for seasons two years in advance.

Designer, Production Coordinator and Buyer, XOXO (Panama Licensee) (April 2011-May 2012):

Adapt trends sent from the corporate offices to respond to needs of the XOXO customer in Latin America and the Caribbean (cultural differences, price points, geographic considerations, local competition etc). Research and report on industry trends, color direction, and fabric development for our region's customer. Maintain constant communication with the sales team to organize the buys and development of the apparel line. Analysis of inventory and sales reports to guide each seasons growth opportunities. Quarterly visits to all brand licensees in NYC for market buying. Creation of all production and technical sketches. Communication and negotiation with overseas factories to coordinate costs and review all sample fittings. Merchandising and sales planning for each selling period. Development of catalog and assistance in showroom setup for market.

Assistant Professor, University of Panama (March 2011-December 2011):

Implement personal work experience and skills in the field of fashion to input in class lessons for Fashion Design and Fashion Illustration (manual and digital). Consult in program planning in coordination with the program director. Work closely with students on their projects and clarify class objectives.

Textile Graphic Designer, OP (Panama Liscensee) (October 2007-April 2011):

Trend forecasting and presentation boards for casual wear and beach/surf related fashions especially for the junior’s apparel collection. Creation of technical sketches for women’s wear (swimsuits, board shorts, tees, blouses, dresses, bottoms, etc). Develop color combinations, prints, trims and labeling. Assist reviewing all approval samples for fabric, color, quality and fit with overseas factories.
